Alma is not only a top-performing student but also a powerhouse of discipline and determination. Having graduated at the top of her class, she’s proven that academic excellence and leadership go hand-in-hand. Outside the classroom, she shines as a top-tier athlete, balancing rigorous training with her studies—an early sign of the stamina and focus it takes to thrive in the legal profession.

This fall, Alma will begin her undergraduate studies at Sam Houston State University, pursuing a double major in Criminal Justice and Political Science. It’s a strategic and passionate step toward her goal of becoming a Latina lawyer who fights for justice and represents her community with strength and purpose.

We’re honored to support Alma’s journey as she explores the legal field, and we look forward to learning from her as much as she learns from us. Her passion, work ethic, and drive already inspire our team—and we can’t wait to see what she’ll accomplish during her internship.

We are proud to announce the newest addition to the Cedillo Law Firm legal team: Malachi Ledbetter, Attorney at Law.

Malachi recently passed the Texas Bar Exam and is now officially licensed to practice law in the State of Texas. His journey to this milestone has been marked by excellence, commitment, and a passion for advocacy—qualities that align perfectly with our mission to provide high-quality, client-focused representation.

A proud graduate of Thurgood Marshall School of Law, Malachi made his mark early by competing at the highest levels of advocacy. He was a standout on the nationally recognized mock trial team, where he trained under the guidance of our very own Managing Attorney, John Paul Cedillo. As a competitor in the National Trial Competition, Malachi demonstrated not just skill and confidence, but the poise and presence of a seasoned litigator.

Long before his bar card arrived, Malachi had already become a vital part of our firm. As a law clerk, he impressed clients and colleagues alike with his intellect, work ethic, and dedication to justice. Now, we’re thrilled to see him graduate to attorney status, officially joining our team of advocates in courtrooms across Texas.

A native of McAllen, Texas, Ms. Pimentel joins the firm with a strong background in criminal defense and immigration law, reinforcing Cedillo Law Firm’s continued commitment to providing high-quality legal representation throughout the Lone Star state.

Ms. Pimentel earned her Juris Doctor from Texas Southern University's Thurgood Marshall School of Law and has been licensed to practice law in the State of Texas since 2021. Prior to joining Cedillo Law Firm, she practiced at Xavier Law Firm, where she successfully represented clients in a range of criminal and immigration matters.
